MONITOR CONSTRUCTION

The communities in Choiseul Province had done a lot of works on the staff house, and clinic building. As a result it is the right time for the proposed owner of the facility (Choiseul Provincial Health Services), to check/monitor the current stage of the construction. This is important to ensure that the new clinic has the right facilities, spaces, rooms, and features that will allow it to deliver appropriate health care.

The appropriate health care would be the Rural Health Clinic (RHC) level of care. Monitoring of the contruction will allow the facility to meet the RHC standard of the new clinic. We would love to get a report from Choiseul Provincial Health Services in the next two weeks.

The feedback report will allow the phase 3 team to finalise the plan for the phase 3 of the project. Hopefully, the report will allow the team to make appropriate adjustments on the construction phase, if required.

PROJECT REVIEW

Phase 2 and 3 of the project will require more commitments, and resources. As a result we are discussing with Harsler Polosovai, Project Coordinator in Choiseul Province, to review the current operations, and management structures in the project. It is our desire that the review will help to provide efficiency, and effectiveness in the operations of the project.

PROJECT COMMITTEES

Oliveti Project Clinic now has three new project committees in Choiseul Province to oversee that project. These commmittees were formed early in January, 2017 in consultation with Harsler Polosovai. All the three committees will collaborate to manage the project.

The three committees are in South Choiseul, NorthWest Choiseul (Taro), and at Oliveti village. We now create networks to empower and create capacities in these three committees.

 SUPPLIES: OLIVETI VILLAGE

Supplies for the Oliveti clinic project that arrived in Honiara from Australia would all be in Oliveti village by this week. The nearby villages have been helping the Oliveti village to transport the supplies from the coast at Vaghara village, to Oliveti village. Lauru 1 unloaded the supplies at Vaghara village.

A logging truck as been used to help in transporting some supplies on certain sector of the journey towards Oliveti village. However, heavy rain for few days last week prevented the logging truck from travelling on the dirt road in the bush. As a result, the locals have been transporting the supplies by themselves.
